Michigan State University’s PRSSA chapter has been selected to host the 2014 Regional Conference on Feb. 7-8 in East Lansing, Mich. This year’s theme, “Electing Excellence: Public Relations in Government and Politics,” will feature prominent public relations and communications professionals from the across the state. The conference is a perfect opportunity to meet young professionals and PRSSA members from the Midwest. Members from Michigan, Ohio and other neighboring states have all been invited to attend. The weekend will be filled with tons of networking and the opportunity to hear from successful PR pros from across the state. As a special thank you, paid members of MSU PRSSA will receive $10 off their ticket! Eligible members received a promo code, which should be entered on the Eventbrite page when they sign up. Additional information will be announced at the PRSSA meeting on Jan. 14. The conference is open to everyone, not only PRSSA members so feel free to invite your friends. The last day to register is Jan. 23, so we hope to see you there!

Friday, Feb. 7

    • Donations encouraged with all proceeds benefiting the Greater Lansing Food Bank

Saturday, Feb. 8

    • Michelle Grinnell: Public Relations Manager at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, communications lead for Pure Michigan and the Michigan Film Office
    • Andy Hetzel: Vice President of Corporate Communications at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
    • Angela Mincuci: Public Information Officer at the Michigan Department of Community Health
    • Ari Adler: Press Secretary for the Speaker of the House of the state senate

  • Catered Lunch and Keynote Speaker
  • Interactive professional development session and infographics workshop with Karl Gude, former Director of Information Graphics at various large news organizations, including The Associated Press and Newsweek magazine, and now a professor in the Communication Arts College at MSU
